Welcome to Gundam Plus II, the successor to the original Gundam Plus site.

News Archives- June 2007

June 29, 2007

I had planned on waiting until tomorrow to do this update but some things just cannot wait. News Gundam wise coming from Anime Expo today (care of AnimeNewsNetwork) as Gundam MS IGLOO: Apocalypse 0079 has licenced and is due on DVD in North America sometime in October. An interesting series to bring but given that it's CG it's a good choice given how popular Beast Wars and Reboot were over here.

Next is the final 3 episode reviews/recaps for Gundam 0080. They can be found in the TV and Movie page on the Gundam 0080 page or you can easily get at them by clicking these links:

Episode 4 / Episode 5 / Episode 6

That's it for now, have a good weekend everyone.

A few things for today. First up, the F91 screenshot page is up. As always, you can get at it via the G.I.G. or just by clicking here.

Next up, I've reviewed/recapped episodes 1, 2, and 3 for Gundam 0080. You can get at them by either clicking on the links of by going through the TV and movies page found here.

Try to keep cool if your area is as hot as it is where I am.

June 23, 2007 - UPDATED!

Just a quick note this morning that I've created and added a bunch of screenshots from Stargazer. You can get at them via the G.I.G. or just by clicking here. Now that I've got the basic template done this part of the site should be getting updated more and more. Don't be surprised if I slip in the pages for "Char's Counter attack" and "F91" later today or over night.

That is All.

Nope, for a change this isn't being declared a super special ultra cool update.

Sat down and reviewed/recapped all three parts of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73 Stargazer. You can find them in the TV and Movies section or just by clicking here for parts One, Two and Three. I'm quite new to doing TV show/episode reviews/recaps so it will be a while until I find my "voice" in my writing. You'll also find that my stuff is quite different from the usual fair as I won't be giving you word for word recaps but you'll get the basic idea of what's going on, along with my reaction at times as I'm watching the show and making notes and also my strange sense of humour as I make the odd side comment about whatever I see in the episode. Since I'm new to this I am very open to and am in fact asking for feedback if my "style" is good, bad, crap etc. so feel free to hit the forum or just drop me an email.

That's it. Hopefully I'll have another update for the weekend but we'll see. Have a good day and enjoy the first day of summer!

June 14, 2007

A Super Huge Update for today since lots has been going on and I've been working hard (instead of the usual Hardly working) on the site.

First up, The Gundam Double O section has had some major work done because of the info released over on Gunota today. The Character section and the Mecha section are up with some information in each of them. As always you can find them in the links above or by heading into the Characters and Mecha Section. Hopefully, I have all the linking for each of the sections and pages all set up correctly, if not just let me know either by email or via the forum. When you're done, why not hit our Mobile Suit Gundam: 00 thread in the forum and join in on the chatter and give your thoughts about the show.

Next up, Cuda-Seijin has given us our first MSIA review, being in the form of a review of Gundam MK II. As well, I've added my own review for the Master Grade Sazabi. Just click on the links or head into the Views and Reviews section.

Also, Long time Forum and Chat member Josh has given us the first of what we hoep will be many of his mecha designs. Check out what he's given us in "Josh's Madhouse of Mecha". Also added a few more of DeathPony's designs, expanding it to Page 2. Over ther weekend I hope to expand EZero8's section to page 3. As always, hit the links or head over to the G.I.G.

and that's it. Have a good one everybody and don't believe the haters, this place ain't going anywhere.

EDIT - Updated some more by adding some pictures to the Double O character and Unit Profiles.

June 12, 2007

No creative or witty title for this update. Today we start off with a new Franken designer's work being added to the site. Feel free to check out Deathpony's work either by heading into the G.I.G. or by clicking here. Unsc117 has also passed along some new fan art which is also in the G.I.G. or you can get at by clicking here.

I've also started on the "Gundam 00" section so some links to that may be up and some may not. It totally depends on how far along I am with it at the time you're reading this as it's something I'm working on and off as I get time. For those who haven't seen the trailer for it or had trouble with the trailer link I had I found a subbed version of the Double O trailer on youtube(credit to genhazzardv2 for the upload) .

If the player doesn't work or load correctly, then just click here to see the vid.

Finally, big thanks to Neo-Era for updating the links on Guntoa to include this page.

That's it. Have a good day everyone

June 6, 2007- Quick update and late TV info

Turns out I had more of my worked backed up than I had thought so I was able to sit down today and finish updates EZero8's Mecha Armory section and in doing so expanded it to a second page. You can get at the page here and the second page being here. Also started the Random Fanart page which you can find here.

As well, in case you missed it, just a reminder to those in Canada or who get YTV that Gundam SEED is back on TV on Saturday nights at 11pm. If you haven't seen it yet then here's a perfect chance to catch it as it's just started last weekend so you've only missed the first episode.

Have a good day everyone

June 5, 2007 - More Information on Double O and Laptop woes

Gunota has some more information regarding the new series that's going to start in the fall. First off, it seems the staff for the show has now been confirmed:

The staff:
Director - Seiji Mizushima
Series Composition - Yousuke Kuroda
Character design - Yun Kouga
Animation character design - Michinori Chiba
Mechanic design - Kunio Okawara, Kanetake Ebikawa, Takayuki Yanase
Mechanic concept design - Hitoshi Fukuchi, Kenji Teraoka
Animation mechanic design - Seiichi Nakatani

Once again, we have Okawara handling the mecha designs so I'll be curious if he'll give us something interesting or endless Gundams with big backpacks. Judging by the teaser trailer I would think the former but one never knows.

The second bit of information is more series information via a press release:

MS Gundam 00 official press releases
From Sotsu Agency's official website, the press release for Mobile Suit Gundam 00, the 12th Gundam TV series and the first to be broadcast in Hi-Def. The premise is given as follows:

"The setting is Earth 300 years from the present day, in 2307 AD. The series depicts the protagonist, Setsuna F. Seiei, who pilots a mobile suit (Gundam Excia) for a mysterious private militia (Celestial Being), going against a whole world where conflicts never cease and the struggle to eradicate war."

Bandai Namco's press release says the first Gundam 00 plamodel, the 1/144 Gundam Excia, comes in September. Outside of Gunpla, expect a slew of merchandising including figures, candy toys, vending machine stuff, apparel, video games, mobile content, and DVD & video.

I personally find it interesting that it's going to be "High Definition" and I wonder how much different it will look as oppose to the "low def" Gundam shows. It's also good to see that we have a bit more of the general plot laid out. Feel free to stop by the forum and give your thoughts about it if you haven't already. This also means I should start prepping a "Double 0" section sooner rather than later.

As well, I've added EZero8's game review for "Encounters in Space". Give it a read as he really does go out his way to give every game a fair shake.

This weekend I plan on finally finishing the updating to the Frankin area. Sadly my laptop died while working on it and with it went all the updated pages. However, being the paranoid person I am, I was able to get the site files from my backup so now it's just a matter of sitting down and doing it all again. Just means it'll take a little while longer.

Have a safe and fun week everyone

June 2, 2007 - A new Series is a go

Yep, it's true. Gunota and a host of other sites are reporting that a new Gundam series will be coming out in Japan in October 2007. What do we know about it? According to Gunota the series will be titled "Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (double oh) along with the following details:

- Setting - 2307 AD ("seireki", Japanese for "anno domini")
- Characters - 4 Gundam Meisters, who pilot the mobile weapons.
- Factions - Solestal Beings (not real sure on the English name right now), a private militia group whose purpose is to eradicate wars.
- Tagline at the end of the commercial - "Rebirth begins through destruction"

Rumors about the series have been going around Japanese message boards for some time, especially after Sunrise registered several Gundam00 domains. The proclamation that the setting would neither be in the Universal Century of the original nor the Cosmic Era of Gundam SEED, as stated by Sunrise's Yasuo Miyakawa, seems to have been followed through with. Staff members are yet to be confirmed although the most persistent rumor is that the series will be directed by Fullmetal Alchemist's Seiji Mizushima.

There's also a teaser trailer that you can see here. When you're done, why not hit the forum and tell us what you think.

Looks and sounds interesting eh?

I've also added the "concept drawings", including for the forgotten "season 2", for the Gplus comic so feel free to check those out. That's it for now, I should have another update on Sunday or Monday.
