After War Gundam X
Following the success of Gundam Wing in Japan "After War Gundam X" was released in 1996 onto the TV screens. This Alternate Universe show tells the tale of what could happen if the warring Colonies opted to drop several hundred colonies at once on the Earth, causing nearly the entire population to be wiped out.
The series picks up 15 years after the fact where those left on Earth are still trying to rebuild and live in a world right out of the Mad Max/Road Warrior movies. Garrod Ran is a young teen just trying to live by finding/stealing or just taking old mobile suits and selling them for money. When he meets a strange girl named Tifa, who leads him to a "Gundam", things in his life begin to change rapidly. Who are these people that are chasing him and why do people fear this Gundam when the moon is out?
This show is considered by the fans as the "most UC" of the alternate Universe series. It also carries the unfortunate stigma of being "cancelled" as it ran only 39 of the intended 49 episodes despite other Gundam series also being cancelled but this fact/myth only applies to this series. Why only 39? Many have their own theories but there has never been any clear-cut answer to the question.
