Episode 7 - I'm gonna sell the Gundam
When we last saw Garrod and Jamil, they were fleeing from an exploding nuclear reactor. The blast is slowly gaining on them but Jamil gets a bright idea. He activates the Satellite System and tells Garrod to use it to propel them out of there. Jamil in his Daughtress grabs onto the GX by the waist as they’re flying to safety. They’re both cheers and smiles until a stray piece of debris nails the Daughtress’ cockpit, potentially killing Jamil. Garrod carries the Daughtress back to the Freeden. Upon arrival, Jamil is rushed into the infirmary where he is given surgery immediately. Tonya winds up hitting Garrod but is stopped by Sara. Sara proceeds to give Garrod a cold hard slap. Garrod goes to Tifa’s room but she won’t let him in. She is probably still ashamed from when Sara said she didn’t like her in makeup. She tells Garrod she’d rather not see anyone now and he leaves.
Meanwhile, Ennil El is in the shower. Her hand passes the bar of soap and grabs a pistol. She draws back the curtain and aims to find her comrade holding a bottle of wine, two glasses and his hands in the air. She tells him she’ll be out soon and lowers the gun. A minute later, they’re drinking in a bedroom, talking about capturing the Gundam. He tells her it was unlike her to mess up and she says both her men and the power plant were out of control. The two Fire Wallaby Daughtress’ set up an ambush for GX as Ennil is looking at the photos from the information broker.
We return to the Freeden where Garrod is on his bed. He says the operation should be done and heads toward the infirmary. Tonya and two mechanics walk out and say the operation was a success. Garrod hides behind a crate and listens to them. Sara exits the infirmary and says its time to punish Garrod. The group starts saying Garrod can’t work with a team and is too much of a loner. Tonya throws out that he might be trying to impress Tifa to which the rest agrees. As they leave, Garrod emerges from the crates. He sees Tifa coming from down the hall and hides. Tifa enters the infirmary and puts her hands on Jamil’s. The doctor catches Garrod watching and asks what he is doing. Garrod chokes up and runs away. Garrod gets into the Gundam and launches without orders.
The pair of Fire Wallaby Daughtress' who were staging an ambush for the GX look around and find the gold bars belonging to Wits. As they’re loading it in a mobile suit sized briefcase, Gundam Airmaster arrives on the scene. Garrod heads to a forest where he is sitting in the shade of the Gundam. He asks the GX what he should do, and then decides to go on the old routine. Airmaster shoots the briefcase out of a Daughtress’ hand. One more Daughtress had arrived and they proceed to fire upon Airmaster. They rush forward, grab the briefcase and split with Airmaster in hot pursuit, the Daughtress’ call for support. The Freeden launches a red, purple and blue flare. Roy, Gundam Leopard’s owner sees the call and retrieves the Leopard from the repair shop.
Garrod is still in the forest, looking at his Gundam when he decides what to do. Ennil El launches in her Wise Wallaby Daughtress. Back at the repair shop, Roybea gets Gundam Leopard back and even receives a discount, so long as the shop owner can have a picture taken with it. He tells Roy that having repaired the Gundam of his dreams there will put his shop on the map. As Roybea is leaving, Garrod arrives. Shocked that there is another Gundam, the owner looks jaw-dropped at the GX. Garrod says he’ll pay a parking fee and that he wants to sell the Gundam.
In a ravine, Airmaster is still chasing the thieves. He decides accuracy is more important than speed and transforms into Gundam mode while more Daughtress’ show up in support of the enemy. Just then, Ennil El catches word that the Gundam X is going to be auctioned. Garrod starts the auction and tells everyone he has a unique suit. He demonstrates that he has explosives wired so even if they’d kill him, they wouldn’t make it away with the Gundam. A suspicious looking man in the crowd immediately stuffs a gun back into his jacket. He starts the bidding at 50,000,000. The price quickly rises to 90,000,000. The man who was forced to hold back his gun offers 100,000,000. Nobody else tops the offer. As he is going to examine his new mobile suit, Garrod produces the mobile suit control and asks the man how much he’ll pay for it. Ennil El then steps forward to offer him 300,000,000 and Garrod looks at her and blushes before happily accepting the deal.
Wits now has the group of Daughtress’ cornered at the end of the canyon. Meanwhile, Ennil and Garrod are at a bar. He says that her men will probably come to deliver the money and kill him. She says that’s probably why he’s already hidden the Gundam. She comments on how they must appear as a couple. He laughs and looks at her. By now, the Airmaster has shot down the four Daughtress units. As he picks up his gold, the canyon wall blows open to reveal Ennil El’s ship. Now staring at an army of Fire Wallaby Daughtress’, Wits says “You’ve got to be kidding me.” Garrod in his hotel room says he’s glad he sold GX. Wits raises his gun and cries “Assholes!” and pulls the trigger to find only empty clicks. This group of Daughtress’ equipped with flamethrowers line in a square around the Airmaster. On Ennil’s friend’s command, each team fires, boxing the Airmaster in a flaming cage. Wits flies upward and the Daughtress’ correct their aim. We’re left to ponder Wits’s fate as Ennil walks into Garrod’s hotel room and sits on the end of his bed. They stare at each other as we see Tifa making a line on a canvas.
Paul Jr’s Thoughts:
A lot happened in this episode! Garrod, it seems, is without the Gundam X. How can he remain the hero without the white Gundam? Garrod now appears to believe that Jamil and Tifa have something for each other. Although this is much like the UC, I really don’t expect Jamil to be pulling a CHAR. Roybea has been called back to the Freeden, can he straighten the messy love triangle out? Will Wits get his gold back? Or make it out of there without being baked? Will Garrod return to the Freeden? Hopefully we’ll find out soon!
