Mobile Fighter G Gundam
Mobile Fighter G Gundam is quite the departure in the Gundam universe. Going against the traditional grain of the Gundam series, this show is closer to "Super Robot" than "Real robot" and is the first to feature many Gundams rather than the single unique machine against an entire army.
The story is basically set in a time where the colonies are now representative of the various world nations and as a means to settle leadership they hold "Gundam Fights" on earth with Gundams units representing each nation.
The series follows the exploits of Domon Kasshu as he pilots Neo-Japan's entry to not only victory for his colony but on a personal quest at the same time. Over the 49 episodes of the series he meets allies and enemies as he fights his way through the various challenges he and his Shining Gundam (and later God Gundam) meet in order to achieve his goal. The series aired in Japan in 1994 and was dubbed and shown in the USA in 2002 and is also available on DVD.
