Information: The Aegis Gundam was created by the Earth Alliance and was stolen by ZAFT. The Aegis runs on battery like the other five main Gundams in SEED. Athrun Zala is its primary pilot, and he utilizes it to a good potential, but not to its maximum. Aegis has the ability to transform temporarily to expose the 580mm Scylla energy cannon that gives an enormous flood of energy. This is very instantaneous. The 'claw mode' that it has when it transforms can be attached to other mobile suits in order to blast them or self destruct, though the only reason to self destruct would be if energy was very low.
