Will people buy it who have watched fansubs? This is always a factor, if people care about the series they will buy it, it's really the same for a release with a dub as another reason the dub is cut is because more people want to watch anime subbed over dubbed.

This is reason why its actually good idea to include both english dubbed voice track and japanese voice track subbed to DVD release. After all this way they can provide subs to those that want them and dubs to those that want them to keep fans of both happy.

Yeah it's a good idea in theory, and when your industry is thriving it might be worth it. But as I said it comes down to cost, it's hard enough to make a profit in the anime industry especially these days. And from a business stand point where can you cut out on? You can't pay less of a licensing fee, the cost of subbing has to cost significantly less, so yeah the dub is the one that goes. Sure you'll make some people unhappy in the process but when it's a matter of survival you go for the one that gets you the most money. Plus it's not like the shows that don't get dubs had any chance of making it on TV.

Thats true when talking about USA. But in some other countries people actually watch subbed programs and are actually very good readers and also fast readers. But thats not possible in USA now is it.

And those aren't the countries that the shows are being dubbed/subbed for or even released for so it's a moot point.

Could Turn A have been licensed as part of a deal to get another series? "We'll give you this title that you really want.....if you release Turn A as well..." Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that I could have Turn A to add to my Gundam dvd collection and I realize the marginal profit idea is just grasping at straws, but can anybody come up with a reason explanation of why the licensed it? I could understand it licensed several years ago when anime was big and they distributed anything under the sun. There has to be some valid reason to take such a risk with a series like Turn A with the anime business so crappy right now. Or those at Bandai are just plain stupid....

I honestly don't think we will ever know what went through their heads about releasing it. I'm just happy we getting it, Bandai's profits don't effect me in regards to this.

Of course we'll never know but it is entirely possible it was some kind of bundled deal, we've heard this does happen. The reasonable explanations are forced by Bandai Japan or bundled with some better anime. I can't see Bandai America thinking it's a good idea. And make no mistake this isn't a matter of Bandai making a profit, there is almost no way that Turn A Gundam will sell enough to make a profit, this will be a loss of money and I'm sure Bandai America knows this.

You didn't get my point at all. What was my point was fact that showing subbed over dubbed in TV is actually useful and improves reading abilities of the audience. After all most pro-dub people think that its too difficult to watch and read at same time. But there is no need to argue about this matter at all. After all its kinda off topic.
