I am kinda worried about the dubbing. Sometimes english dubs tend to not be very good, I can name several foreign media gems that were pretty much ruined by english voice acting. Don't get me wrong, the voice actors announced so far aren't bad, but sometimes....
watch the trailer, all the voices are spot-on.
and in your example of gems ruined by english voices, please dont say Naruto. that gets tiring.
I was just saying that sometimes, dubbing simply doesn't turn out too well, I mean listen to Lacus in SEED and SEED Destiny, she kinda sounds like she's got the voice of an eight year old, and I am using that as an example. It is not limited to anime either, personally, I think the Japanese kaiju movies took the biggest blow of all, with all the sudden pauses in the middle of sentences and all.

sure they do. theyve had to cut nudity from stuff theyve shown. they just dont do more than they need to, like cartoon network does.

A couple of additions to the Gundam 00 dub VA's
Quote
Saji Crossroad - Gabe Khouth
Louise Halevy - Kelly Sheridan
Kinue Crossroad - Anna Cummer
I'm honestly waiting to see who is going to be cast for Graham Acre and Ali Al-Sages myself. Those two are very important and if they don't have the right VA then it could be very very bad.

im not familiar with either of the VAs playing the Crossroad siblings, but i think Louise's VA is a good choice, and after looking her up i was surprised to see her as also doing a lead role in the Nana anime, whenever that feels like coming out in the US. nice.

If this is legit that we get our first look or hear of the dub and their voices:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecrypvIG9-8
I'm not too impressed but it's just a quick clip so I need to see a full ep or two before I make any final judgments on it.

I am drunk and I love you guys.
I think with a new home for Gundam on Network Television, Tamashii having a booth at SDCC, things may be taking a drastic turn for North America. We may see a release of domestic models and figures again. It all just depends upon the reception of the new series on Sci-Fi.

I do not visit Gundamofficial at all so I'm just going by what I post. It's not like anyone here made any mention of it when it was supposedly released a month ago or anything.

Initially I'm pretty surprised Cartoon Network/Adult Swim didn't pick it up instead in the US. As it stands though I do hold high hopes for the show and Sci-fi's anime block for having this show as well as Gurren Lagann now.
The english site for 00 is now up as well with a little trailer featuring the voices for the Meisters.
http://gundam00.bandai-ent.com/
First impressions for me are that Setsuna and Lockon sound fine and near what I'd expect them to, Al/Hal and Tieria kinda threw me off but I could grow to like the voices.
Overall I'm excited that the Ocean group was picked to do the dub, as I think they've handled all the Gundam series they've done very well.
yikes. same thread too. just one page back.

Well, that isn't Gundam official but the official Gundam 00 English site I stand corrected none the less.

Some more casting news on the dub via
Gunota
:
Quote
Sumeragi Lee Noriega - Lisa Ann Beley
Wang Liu Mei - Maryke Hendrikse
Lasse Aeon - Andrew Francis
Christina Sierra - Shannon Chan-Kent
Feldt Grace - Chantal Strand
Lichtendahl Tsery - David A. Kaye
and on another dub related note, according to
zannen, Canada
Ocean Studios had a panel at this weekends Anime Evolution convention and Vancouver and showed the first episode there:
Quote
The entire first episode made its North American debut during the panel in its completed dub form, much to the surprise of the audience who were expecting to only see clips as was usually the case for these events. Hopefully we'll more screenings like this come out of Ocean presentations in the future. The screening was introduced by Diana Gage, Senior Producer on the series, who pointed out that this was the first Gundam series to be produced in HD. The dub itself was... well, Gundam with voices from Vancouver actors. What is interesting to point out is that unlike most of their productions, Bandai has actually replaced most of the on-screen text in the show with English translations, including the main title during the opening credits.
That's quite interesting and I'm wondering what it was like. I know Mark064 is there so hopefully he checked it out and he'll grace us with his thoughts on the dub and everything else overall.
Sadly, it looks like Canadian fans are still being left out of the cold
Quote
At the end of the panel, Diana once again confirmed the series' broadcast on Sci-Fi Network, but predictably stated that no Canadian broadcasters were currently lined up to air the series.
Once again...the Canadian stations are dropping the ball here.

Some more news on the dub's voice cast care of
Gundam|News
Quote
Sergei Smirnov - Michael Dobson
Soma Peries - Tabitha St. Germain
Marina Ismail - Paula Lindberg
Graham Aker - Paul Dobson
Billy Katagiri - Kirby Morrow
Alejandro Corner - Andrew Kavadas
I guess it's not an ocean dub if one of the dobson brothers isn't involved.
All joking aside it looks like Ocean is going out of their way to make it look good given the cast they've assembled.
